I have been contacted numerous times by the Colorado Dept of Revenue.
ALL MARKETS REQUIRE you to have a Colorado Special Events License Number.
We’re looking for handmade goods that are made by you.
We’re looking for designs created by you.
If you are an MLM or Reseller these markets are not for you.
At this time, we do not have a need for permanent jewelers.
How do I apply to become a vendor at your markets?
Thank you for you interest!
Please fill out the application (available when there is a maker call).
Please DO NOT contact me via social media about vendor spots as I often miss the messages.
BEWARE OF SCAMS! I will never announce or offer spot openings as a comment on a social media post (Facebook Event) and NEVER ACCEPT vendors via social media. The only person you should deal with is Carolyn.
How long are applications open?
Applications are generally open for 2 to 5 days.
How do you assess applications?
I would love to include everyone who applies, but cannot as I receive more than double the applicants than spots available. Our small, Family Friendly Markets require diversity.
For us, that means we limit the number of vendors in each handmade category.
Please understand that many factors go into decision making and are not related to an artist’s talent or quality of work. Each application is evaluated based upon the following criteria
- Professionalism
- What fits best at the venue and the amount of spaces available.
- The desire to offer a variety of craft categories, and work with many different artists.
How do I find out if I’ve been accepted?
If you are accepted you will receive an email. Filling out an application does not guarantee a spot in the market. You will be emailed if there is a spot for you. If you do not receive an email, you have been placed on the waitlist.
Why am I always waitlisted?
First off, I apologize if it feels this way. All markets are very small and I look to offer a variety of categories. See our growing vendor list.
I work very (very very) hard when looking through all applications and assessing them with the criteria listed above.
When I have applicants in the same categories, I will number them and then use a random number generator to choose, thus, it literally is luck of the draw.
It never feels good to let people down, so please don’t take it personally.
State and City Taxes
Paying applicable sales taxes is the responsibility of each vendor. Handmade Market NoCo is NOT responsible for remission of any taxes on behalf of vendors.
State law requires vendors selling at Handmade Market NoCo events to have a special sales tax license to collect and submit state sales tax (usually one month after the event).
Tax rate for all Fort Collins events is 8.05%
State 2.90%
County 0.80%
City 4.35%
